iMac Siera unknown icon appeared

Hello everyone

I have an unknown icon that appeared on the top menu bar. It turns blue when you click on it an can be moved with the command key.

It is the second icon from the left the green blob with arrow pointing North West. It does not appear in applications.

User uploaded file

Can you identify this icon or know how to track it down?

Many thanks

Niels

Hello BDAqua

Thank you for your reply .

I have run ETreCheck and deleted the Adobe adware marked in red, other than that I am none the wiser.

I will try and paste the report and hope you can find something:

EtreCheck version: 3.1.5 (343)

You do have Adware installed on your computer, although I can't say if it is responsible for the mystery icon. Use the "Remove" function within Etrecheck to get rid of the Adware, restart the computer, and check for improved performance.

Adware:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Extensions/Amazon Shopping Assistant.safariextension

~/Library/Safari/Extensions/Amazon Shopping Assistant.safariextz

Hello den.thed

Thank you for correctly identifying the icon, this puts us on the right trail!

It seems to be part of "Tunes Go" which I have not used since 2016.

I see Wondershare constantly coming up in Sys info as being active on start up.

The only problem is now that there is nothing ticked in "Preferences" and I still have an "Orphan Icon"

that does not want to respond and refuses to disappear.

I installed "Little snitch " last month and I denied several apps access to the internet and that may be the cause.

A case of revenge by the denied apps? Maybe but nothing has been proven.

We are getting closer thanks to your help den.thed

PS I have upgraded the App to day and it looks totally different....
