Is the $5.99 Washington Post subscription in Apple news only good for that app? Or should I ahve access to Washingtonpost.com

Is the $5.99 Washington Post subscription only good within the Apple News app? Or should I have access to washingtonpost.com and the individual Washington Post IOS app?
