Sorry if no one answered this for you but when your apple id is disabled when attempting to use or update an application you "must" call apple and request that itunes re-enable your apple id.

I have done this, and there is no place on that page, or after attempting to login, or after giving your phone number, or after entering the verification code, where you can "check the status of your request."
I have repeatedly done all the above resetting and have successfully been able to log into my apple account across all devices however my iphone still will not allow me to download or upgrade apps. Same old message " you Apple ID has been disabled". Very frustrating!
in the same boat. they were suppose to call today and I didn't get a call. And like you said there is no place to check the status of the recovery request. the information on the site is false and there appears to be no recourse.

i have last resort my Trusted Phone number register on my iCloud account,
