How do I show picture title in Photos for Mac

in iPhoto there was a menu selection to turn on showing photo titles. How do I do that in Photos for Mac?

Once you check the View ➙ Metadata menu to see the fields you want (in the Info Pane) you'll need to use one of these user contributed Apple scripts to put the file name into the title field:

Script: Batch Changing the Titles to the Filename w/Extension

Script: Changing the Title to the Filename without Extension

You can download a compiled version of the scripts as an application from this tutorial site: P01 - Applescripts from Photos’ User Tips Compiled as Applications

Or, you can use the free version of PowerPhotos to view the photos in the library with the file name and one of several metadata fields under the thumbnail.

You could also try list view in PowerPhotos. Then you can display many metadata at once as a table and sort the photos by these metadata by clicking the column headers.

Ctrl-cicking or right clicking the photos in list view or grid view will allow you to find the photo in Photos in the Moments or in the Finder.

this is very helpful. I downloaded both the script to change Title to filename and the PowerPhotos. I was able to successfully change the titles to filename running that little app. However, in PowerPhotos I cannot get the Title to display. I have the menu settings just as in your examples, but only the subtitle (date) shows up, not the title. I've poked around in the program, but see no way to fix this. I've closed and reopened both Photos for Mac and PowerPhotos, but that doesn't make a difference. Thoughts?
