Asus PG279Q not detected correctly by OSX

Hello all,

I have a 2012 mac mini and an Asus PG279q display. With the monitor detected via display port the maximum resolution I can run the monitor at is 1080p despite it being a 1440p display. I have tried resetting the PRAM, SMC, and reinstalling OSX. About This Mac shows my display with the correct model number but detects that it is a 31.5 inch 1080p monitor instead of the 27" 1440p monitor that it really is. Any suggestions?
