Change a contact from iMessage to text

My friend switched from an iPhone to a Droid. When I text her it still tries to send an iMessage.

When I text her individually it will eventually turn to texts on its own. When I try a group text with another iPhone user and her she is not getting the group text. The message stays blue. Here are the things I have already tried from other posts.

1. In contacts she is marked as mobile and not iPhone.

2. I deleted her contact and reentered it.

3. I only have my phone number checked in settings for iMessages.

Any other suggestions? Main problem is with group texts.
