Receive blank texts from a Mexican number (+52), despite blocking it

I repeatedly receive blank texts on my iPhone 4 from a Mexican number (+52), despite having blocked this number, in an attempt to stop these 'messages'.

Does anyone know what I can do to stop them showing on my phone? I'm concerned there might be something malicious happening here! :/

You should report this to Apple.

To report spam or other suspicious messages that you have received through iMessage, please send them to imessage.spam@apple.comwith the requested information.

If you can't block the number successfully, I would contact your wireless carrier and see if they can help.
