Boot camp format problem

Boot camp doesn't format the partition in NTSF format.

When windows setup starts after the partitioning of the harddisk, its wouldn't install on Bootcamp partition!

Has been formated to MSFAT32, and windows refuse to install. I can't also not see any way to format it... If I use the format function, the partition would be in NTSF format, but the software already installed by BCA would now be deleted!!!

Can I download a newer version of BCA?

Is there a known problem with fusion drive and BCA?

Took the iMac to a service place, and the also couldn't solve the problem, after using 5 hours!!!

I had a collapse running Parallel and needed to reformat and install again....

Please help.......

Disconnect all external storage from your Mac for the duration of the Windows Installation. Please see If you see a partition alert while using Boot Camp to install Windows - Apple Support .

If the error is related to a missing CD/DVD driver, your source ISO is corrupted.

The ISO file must be on the internal disk on your Mac, not on an external storage. The Bootcamp drivers are downloaded and copied to the OSXRESERVED partition along with the contents of the ISO from your Mac's internal disk. You must not connect any storage devices or USB hubs during installation.

Please see How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support, and specifically,

A blank 16 GB or larger USB 2 flash drive. (If you have one of these Mac models, you don't need a flash drive.)

Disconnect all external storage. Run the following two procedures,

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Run BC Assistant, and post a screen shot of the options/tasks on your screen. Please use Bootcamp User Interface as a reference to verify that the your model shows the correct interface.

I do understand that.....

But when I select to format the Bootcamp partition, then it would do that ok.... but after the formating, and when I select the same, now new formatted part, then windows refuse to install on that partition... saying, can't find the drive or couldn't make a new partition!!!!

Here it normally would start the actual installation......

The ISO is located on my Imac.

I have one of the mentioned models, but that doesn't make any difference to the Bootcamp, it is still asking for a USB flash drive.

All functions 100% ok, until windows setup restart the iMac and the setup process take over. Now this process doesn't format the Bootcamp in NTSF format, so the process stop - because it cannot install on a MSFAT32 format.

If you then format, as you are asked to, then the partition now will be in NTSF format, but when you continue on NEXT, windows setup inform, that it can't find a drive to install at and it also can't make a partition........ thats where it all stop.

I think, that the setup software, who is downloaded from Apple is somehow corrupted.....

I have done this many times before, and never had any problems.......

I can only think, that it is the install software which BCA download down to your USB flash.....

I had the iMac by an authorized Service partner Yesterday for 5 hours..... they have done over 200 bootcamps, but never see any problem like this...

I have done a few one, all without problems.

They think, that it is a Fusion drive software problem........ and would like to install a SSD ram drive and kill the Fusion drive......

hi again, and thanks for the help...

I was getting ready to screendump the hole process for you, and while doing this, that must be number 35 time I do this in the last week, it all went well.

I moved onto to taking picture with my mobil, after setup did take over, and when I did a format this time and then press the "next" - suddenly windows started to install on the partition.

Dont ask me why....... I can still only think, that this time the downloaded software hasnt been corrupted....

I have no other explanation.....

But thanks for your interest in helping.

Henrik.
