BACKLIGHT NOT WORKING?!

So I have an 16gb iPhone 6, running IOS 10.2.1 and just yesterday I was using it perfectly fine, I put it in my pocket, but a couple minutes later when I took it out, I noticed it wouldn't turn on. But I later found out it was turning on but the display is just extremely dark (visible in really dark room and still rings, flashlight, audio, etc.). I have tried restarting it (home button + power button) and I also put it into recovery mode and restored it on iTunes, but neither of these did anything. The screen is still very dark and I have no control over the brightness plus I have no warranty. Is this a hardware problem or perhaps a software problem since it was literally working perfectly a couple minutes before it went dark?

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If needed find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken

Apple does not usually fix iDevices except for screens and minor work they can do in their shop. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model. You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple: You can make an appointment at the Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar and take it in for service. You can also look for an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. You will find respective repair costs in the appropriate link:
