Why does my iPhone not remember parked car location with Kinivio BTC450?

I have an iPhone 6s Plus. I use it in my car with a Kinvio BTC450 bluetooth car kit. According to Apple and all of the articles that I have read when I turn off my car and my car kit stops then the iPhone should realize that I am parked and set a location reminder for where I parked.

It doesn't. I had a loaner of a 2016 Accord Coupe with Honda's hands free kit (kind of crappy BTW) and the parked feature worked, so I know that it does work.

Why does it not work with the Kinivio?
