You have to click on each app in apple store>Update>select update on right side of app>If that is purchase from older id, you must need older id's password, but i am suggesting you delete the app and download from current Apple id. otherwise you are facing same problem in future.
I'm having the same problem. Now however, Itunes 12.7 doesn't backup or sync apps so I can't look at my apps in itunes to see which apple ID they were purchased under. Any suggested work around for this? Also - I need to do the same with my songs but when I right click songs, there is no option for "file". I did find Song Info/file - but no Apple ID information can be found there either. Do you know how I can find it for songs as well?
Use iTunes on your computer. Find the app in your library. Right-click (if a Windows machine, control-click if a Mac) the app file name and choose the "File" tab. That should show the "Purchased by" information. Repeat for each app in question.
Then delete the wrongly purchased apps in your library and sync the iPhone.
This was exactly the problem. Turns out it was one old app that I purchased years ago using my old Apple ID. Once I figured out which one it was I deleted it and problem solved. After I restored backup from the cloud I saw there was one app that was still waiting to install. That was the app that was causing the problems so deleted it. Thanks for your help :)
I just did as the others on this thread have suggested and cleaned out all the apps that were purchased/downloaded under my old Apple ID. This issue is something I think Apple could have figured out by now. When I first created an Apple ID it didn't need to be an email address, so I used something else. When they made the switch and required that the Apple ID be an email address, I think they should have made it possible to merge content associated with the old ID together under your new ID. I have apps and music from my old ID and it causes problems for me years after the change.
how do i find out which apple id was used to purchase apps
