logic x, midi environment changes, now: can't record

Hello;

I use 2 midi keyboards, one via usb over my mac book, second one via my babyface.

I managed to separate the two in the midi environment, so each midi keyboard can play a different midi instrument in logic.

it works, but now i can't record anymore. i select the 2 channels and press record, but i don t work. no midi events are created when i press record and play the instruments.

here are 2 pictures how i changed the midi environment.

thank you very very much

The setup you're using is mainly for live performance rather than recording.

Use a stock environment.

Go into "Settings/Recording" activate the "Auto-Demix by Channel" function.

Back in the Arrange window set up two Instruments

Set each instrument to output on different MIDI channels (in the Inspector)

Set each keyboard to transmit on the individual MIDI channels you've set up in the Inspector.

Record enable both Instrument tracks.

You should be able to hear both instruments and record them.

Logic will appear to record on a single track but will auto-split them when Logic stops recording.

At least that's the way it used to work.
