Can my iPhone survive a coffee spill?

Yesterday, I had my iPhone SE on my lap listening to music with the headphones in. When my cat jumped on my dinner table and knocked about half a cup of warm coffee onto my brand new phone. Luckily the phone was screen down but the coffee covered the back and sides and formed a puddle in my lap. There wasn't much coffee on the screen but its possible it could of gotten into the mic or home button, not sure. I immediately turned it off, unplugged the headphones, and dried it off. There wasn't much sugar in my coffee but the phone still got pretty sticky, so I used some rubbing alcohol to clean the phone and whatever I could reach. (Headphone jack, charger port, speakers, mic, etc). Let it sit for about 30 mins before I turned it on. Everything seems to be working fine other than the coffee smell. volume/vibrate buttons, the speakers/headphones, and touch all work, and there's no screen damage. The phone is less than a week old, and I'm worried that I might of damaged something internally. I've never dropped the phone so everything is tight and in place, I'm hoping that kept the liquid out lol. Its been about a day and a half and its still functioning. Am I just being paranoid? I did some research and found online that drinks like coffee are very corrosive. Would I of noticed the damage by now? Does the SE have ANY water resistance?

I mean those opening enough could cause liquid to get it, not to mention that the space between the glass of the camera and the enclosure isn't air tight so yes liquid could have gone in through there too.

if there is a store near you, I would venture there and ask them , they won't have a problem opening it and checking for you, just make an appointment first.

Well, the spill mainly hit the upper left of the phone on its back near the camera. Are there any exposed locations besides the mics/speakers/home button/ or sound buttons? I'm hoping that since there wasn't coffee in any of the openings I cleaned that maybe I lucked out and the coffee just made my phone dirty and smell but didn't get inside 😝

The simple truth is that no-one here knows if liquid got into your phone, only time will tell.
