javascript problems

I am having trouble getting dreamweaver to run on my eMac.i get the same problem with both the MX 2004 and dreamweaver8 versions. I am posting this on the apple site as i am wondering if it is my computer rather than the program. I have also been unable to install dreamweaver on my Powerbook due to the same problem occuring.

I get the following error message:
Unable to open script file
"HD1:Applications:Macromedia Dreamweaver 8:Configuration:Shared:Common:Scripts:dwscripts.js"(error 2)

This is followed by:
Unable to open script file
"HD1:Applications:Macromedia Dreamweaver 8:Configuration:Startup:RecordsetFind.js"(error 2)

Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.
