How do I get my iPad out of lost mode?

Somehow my iPad got put into lost mode, and now it's asking for a passcode to unlock it. I never created a passcode for it. I'm not sure if my Apple ID or iPad itself has been hacked into for this to happen, but I know I haven't done anything to put it in lost mode. Anybody have any ideas?

I've tried that before, but it won't work because the iPad won't connect to the wifi while in Lost Mode. I get a message at the bottom saying "stop lost mode pending."

So you would go to icloud.com first off and sign in with your icloud/apple ID

Then you would go to find my iphone/device

Then click all devices at the very top.

Then you would select the device

After that a pop up will come up, then click stop lost mode

Lost mode won't prevent a device from connecting to a known WiFi network. When a device has been marked as Lost you want to be able to track its location. If its not connecting to your known networks I would restart the unit. If that still doesn't work, you should treat it as if you simply forgot the passcode.
