Stop showing apps on other devices

It's an option to show apps on other devices on my home network. For example, if I have Chrome open on one computer, I can show it on another computer on the same network.

I want to turn that off.

How do I do that?

iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)

That is in fact Handoff:

Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

Each device has Handoff turned on:

  • On Mac, choose Apple menu (ïŁż) > System Preferences, then click General. Select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” to turn if off.
  • On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > Handoff, then turn off Handoff.

Phil, thank you fill for stepping in. I thought this could be it, but I only have one mac and one iPhone capable of it; that is why I'd never experienced Handoff between two macs, even though they are next to each other, in the same network and logged in with the same Apple ID. And, apparently, I wrongly assumed it would not work with Chrome, which apparently it does.

How is that working? How exactly do you "see" apps on other computers?

The only similar thing that I can think of is "Hand Off", which is a feature of macOS and iOS that allows you to easily pick up what you were doing from one device to another. But that would not work with Chrome.

It is a feature of iCloud. It lets you easily open a webpage that is open in another mac you have, or in your iPhone.

I am thinking this is probably something else entirely, so please explain in more detail.
