Can Powerbeats 3 connect to MacBook?

I recently received the Powerbeats 3. While I love the sound quality and have had no problems connecting it with my iPhone 6, I haven't been able to connect it with my 2013 MacBook Pro. When I go to the bluetooth menu in System Preferences, the earbuds show up but say "Not connected." When I try to click on them or do anything, the same message appears.

I would love to not be limited in my use for them! I am on my computer very often and do not want to have two different sets of earbuds to take with me.

Connect to a different device

All other devices:

Go to Bluetooth Settings on your device. On your Mac, you can just click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.

Select your earphones from the list of Bluetooth devices. If you don't see your earphones after a few seconds, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

Check to see if you MacBook Pro connects with other Bluetooth devices, if possible.

If you're unable to connect to any Bluetooth devices, try turning Bluetooth off and back on again.
