I have one email account with the email address "my name <email address>"
New messages are sent from this
Some people get an email with my name, other users get an email that has my wife's name, and I have no idea where this is coming from.
I don't see her name in any of the email settings or preferences. Could there be something happening on the receiver end?
Sierra 10.12.3, Apple Mail 10.2
When you open Mail, and click on Preferences>Composing, where it says "Send New Messages from this Account", click on the down arrow to see what names are listed, and also make sure that your name is checked, and not Automatically Select Best Account.

I have looked there, only two options listed
"automatically select..."
and "my name <email address>" which is correct, but some receive an email with wife's name and same email address
