Where to buy a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter

Hey guys, so to give you a bit of backstory, I initially bought a a direct Thunderbolt to HDMI cable originally from a place called Mediamarkt in Germany... unfortunately the cable has been suffering over time to a point where it constantly cuts out whenever the sound is too loud or if there is too much going on on-screen. Strange, yes, but I have moved on.

So now I have bought a completely new Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable direct from Apple, with the intention of also buying an adapter to connect my Macbook to my TV... but alas, shock-horror, for some reason I have not been able to find an adapter anywhere in this bleak internet. So I am talking about an adapter with a female thunderbolt port and a male HDMI plug... for some reason only the reverse exists, and now Ive wasted a good 40 euros on a thunderbolt cable that seems useless... my TV definitely doesnt take a thunderbolt cable!

Anyway, if anyone has any information I look forward to it 🙂

P.S. I still live in germany, so European links will be preferred

Well, your old cable should work just fine, unless it's defective, but it should be called a Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI cable. It's not a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. Using the correct words is important when doing searches.

If you search for that, you should be able to find new ones.

Thanks for the reply! I wasnt aware that there was another name for the thunderbolt, so thank you for letting me know... But unfortunately my question still remains... even when searching for a Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter there are only adapters with a female HDMI socket and a male Thunderbolt plug... I already have the thunderbolt cable so I need to plug that into the adapter and from there into the HDMI port of my TV...

You're still missing the point. Thunderbolt and Displayport are not the same thing. Thunderbolt supports Displayport.

You don't use Thunderbolt cables. You bought the wrong cable.

The adapters come that way because you're supposed to be using a Mini-Displayport to HDMI with an ordinary male HDMI to male HDMI cable to your monitor.
