iphone 7 wifi and bluetooth grayed out

So here we go. I bought an iPhone 7 in December last year, everything has been fine until yesterday. I switched on airplane mode and when I switched it off my wifi and bluetooth won't work.

I've reset the Network Settings, did a hard reset on the phone, did a Reset All Settings and also did a reset Erase All Content and Settings and nothing helped.

The wifi in the control center is grayed out but the bluetooth isn't. But when I go to the bluetooth under settings there is just the spinning "waiting" wheel like it's trying to come on whereas the wifi is grayed out and the switch does nothing.

The phone is up to date as far as software but apparently there is a glitch in it someplace. If anyone has any idea of how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking forward to a 80 mile drive to the Apple store.

Thanks!

The steps here are the only Apple recommended options. You may have a defective device, sorry to say.

If Wi-Fi is grayed out or dim on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Edit:

That being the case you have little to lose by trying these steps:

Try holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button at the same time for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears and then allow the phone to restart.

If a restart does not help try a System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data. Try restoring as New first and testing it. If it works then try restoring the backup and test it again. The backup could be corrupted. Here are the steps for a Restore:

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue with WiFi and Bluetooth. It's not even been a month since I bought my iphone7.

My software version is up to date. The fix recommended in your post is not helping.

I have scheduled a call with apple support, lets see if they can help me out.

This is my 1st iphone purchase and my impression on apple is also graying out 😟

I have the same issue I'll try to go to wifi and setting will freeze its very intermittent then the phone will fix it self after I mess with it not sure the exact remedy ,I had this issue on my 5s and now my iPhone 7 it seems to me that the issue was caused and introduced by iOS 10 I had done numerous factory resets 2 both phones where iTunes downloads and restore and have had this issue on 2 phones since iOS 10. iOS 10 has way more features then previous versions but is the least reliable in my opinion,I just prey that it's not in iOS 11 and yes I have set up as new phone

Well I tried to restore it as new but after I logged into my account as you do while setting it up it then took me to the next step which was the verification code but I couldn't receive the verification code because it couldn't send it to the phone I was setting up. Did that make any sense? I didn't know how else to get a verification code so I just restored it.

I'll have to run it to the Apple store I guess and get it replaced.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
