iPad Says 'Not Charging' When Plugged In
My iPad Air with iOS 10.2.1 says that it is 'Not Charging' when it is plugged in. It is charging, albeit slowly.
Using original Apple hardware and lighting cable.

Try a reset by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears.
If that does not help, I suggest you take the iPad and charger in for testing.

Hi. Are you using the 12 Watt charger that came with the iPad, or some other source, maybe a computer?
It is indeed. you should be able to see the wattage rating (10 or 12 watts) printed on the outside. you will probably need a magnifying glass to see the printing clearly.
The 12 Watt charger has not solved the problem
Hi. The iPhone chargers are 1 Watt. This is not enough to run the iPad and charge it, so it says "not charging". It will charge if you sleep it, but it will take at least 8 hours. You should use the iPad charger. Note that you can use it for the phone as well; the extra wattage won't hurt the phone.
I'll give this a try. Thanks Barry.
Rebooting did not solve the problem and I live 2-2.5 hrs from an Apple retail store so taking it there for checking is not very practical.
