Can I unsubscribe from someone else shared album without them being notified

I understand that if I own a shared album, I can delete it and it will disappear across my devices and others will be removed from that shared album

However, I am less clear that if I unsubscribe from some else's shared album will they be notified if I unsubscribe?

Could be awkward.

Noi idea about the notice but certainly if the owner goes to the album and looks at the subscription list they can see that you are no longer subscribed- there is no accounting to them about what you view or how often you view it so if you just ignore it and let it lie dormant they will not know that you are gone - you can even set a rule in Mail to just delete their notices when they arrive so you never see them

I would send them a friendly email before unsubscribing, giving reason - running out of storage, or similar. And telling them that you will remove all photos you shared, so they can save the shared photos.

I'm finding it much more awkward, btw, that anyone invited to a public shared album can distribute the URL to more people and invite others. Because of this, we do not know for sure, who will be able to see the photos we post. We have to be very careful with photos shared this way. We invite three people, and think it is a closed community, but if one of the three thinks it is a good idea to invite someone else, this person will be able to see the photos and read the comments.
