Safari slow and bad FaceTime quality

I recently got a new MacBook Pro (late 2016) and I have to say that I am very unhappy with it.

I am expecting multiples issues, but the most annoying one, is that after a couple of days using the Macbook without re-booting it and connecting it to my external display at work and at home, Safari (but also other internet browser) becomes really slow. It takes a long time for websites to open even though my internet connection is perfect (performed sped test). The other issue is that the FaceTime quality becomes really bad as well. There's a lot of disruption while the connection is great using my iPhone at the same time. All of these problems resolve immediately the I re-boot the Macbook.

It's very annoying because that means that I have to close all of my programs and restart everything just because I want websites to open faster or use FaceTime. I don't think this should be the case using a 3000 Dollar device!

Hi headhunter2222!

I see that you're experiencing issues with Safari becoming slow and FaceTime call quality on your MacBook Pro, and I'm happy to assist. To help isolate this issue further, please try starting the MacBook Pro in safe mode to see if you're still experiencing these issues.

Hello i_rina,

thanks for your help. I think I figured out what the problem causes. After days of testing, I noticed that this problem appears only after I connected my MacBook Pro to my Thunderbolt Display at home. I'm connecting it using a Thunderbolt USB C adapter. After that connection, the problems appear. It doesn't appear when I connect it to a non Thunderbolt Display (e.g. Dell screen at my work) or a projector showing presentations. It's just the Thunderbolt display.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks!
