Audio parameter issues - trick to get it to work?

I have Motion 5.

The Audio Parameter isn't working correctly on my Motion 5 on my Mac Pro 2013.

I have a simple oval shape I created in Motion. I applied the Audio Parameter on it. I set the audio source as a snore.cab file that came with Final Cut Pro X.

I set the parameter to affect the Transform:Scale:Y Axis. I changed the scale to 2.0.

The parameter does animate the Y scale of the oval some, but it's not accurate. It animates in places where there is no audio, and what's worse is it stops about half way through the duration of that object AND the behavior and then does nothing.

Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you

BTW, I wanted to a video to show you but this forum software won't let me (on top of the bug it has with jumping a few lines above as I type, arbitrarily).

Thanks

OK, I'm working hard on this project today and I've been banging my head and almost quit trying to use this behavior because I would have animated it manually faster.

When I changed the Respond To parameter to Transients, that clicked in and worked for a WAV clip that would just not work at all.

So check that out if anyone has the same issue.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Just an update – I've been working all weekend and I have to say that Motion 5 is very buggy in regards to this behavior. It takes a lot of Jerry-rigging to get the parameter to work. You should be able to copy and paste the behavior to other clips, but the same set-up arbitrarily works or doesn't work on other clips. Sometimes you use Amplitude, sometimes that does nothing and you have to use Transients.

So if anyone has the same situation as me, you just have to keep futzing with the parameters of the behavior and switch between amplitude and transients.
