Have you tried using a different set of headphones? If a different set works, the problem is with your headphones. If the problem exists with all headphones, you probably have an issue with the headset jack. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider for evaluation.

I'm having the same problem. This started happing on my 5s earlier this year. I've since tried an old 4s...same problem. Now I have a brand new iPhone 7 and have the same problem. I've tried multiple sets of headphones as well...doesn't make a difference. At this point listening to music on my iPhone is worthless!
