How to manage or reset photo's folder's name on Computer?

As we all know, when you access to your iPhone by computer, and go to "Internal Storage" and "DCIM", you'll see a lot of "xxxAPPLE" and "xxxIMPRT" folder has been created. ( xxx is number, start from 100) I usually back up these photo by direct copy them to my computer's harddisk. So, with all those folders and their sometimes re-alignment themselves, it's become harder to see either where your recent photos go and am I already copy all new photos. And since sometimes newest photos aren't go to folder with highest number, you can't rely on number in folder's name.

So, is there anyway to delete all those confused folders and make all photos in iPhone rearrange themselves into new folder start from "100APPLE" again? Result in all current photos, no matter which folder they're in and how many photos those folders contained, rearrange themselves by inserting first 100 or 200 or 1,000 photos into first folder named "100APPLE" and next batch into "101APPLE" and go on.

I'm not a fan to iTune due to I feel like it's 'hard to understand'. But if it can help, I'll try to use it.

Thanks in advance.

This is not the advocated way to access your photos. These folders are part of a database system managed by the Photos app and iOS. One shouldn't really be doing any work with those folders and their structure.

The risk of data loss is real and high.

Not necessarily wrong, just not as designed.
