Problem pasting pictures in MS Powerpoint

This problem only happens on my MacBook Pro15 but not on my MacBook Air11. But are upgraded to the latest OSX version all the time, and both are running the same MS Office 2011.

When a copy a picture on the Firefox browser and paste it onto Powerpoint, it comes out distorted as below. The first picture is the original on the browser. It happens for all the time ever since I got my MacBook Pro15 last week.

I have figured out a work-round: Copy the picture onto an empty MS Word and from there onto MS Powerpoint. It doesn't happen on Keynote.

But it continue to bug me. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks speedster but there is only one option for Paste Special - paste as picture.

On my MacBook Air, I was able to just paste directly but not on my MacBook Pro. So, really trying to avoid all these intermediate steps of pasting elsewhere (which I can already do via Word) etc.

Pasting pictures in to Microsoft apps on a Mac has always been a risky business.

Instead save the picture from Firefox either by right-clicking on it and if it allows choosing 'Save image as…' or try dragging the image to a folder on your Mac. Then you can insert the resulting image file in to the PowerPoint document rather than pasting it.

I'm having the same problem. It's incredibly frustrating. Sometimes it's alleviated by dragging and dropping, but not from all programs (e.g., not from RStudio plot zoom). I'm glad you mentioned your work around, or I'd be completely f***ed atm. Hopefully it's resolved soon.

That almost looks like a Zoom setting in Powerpoint. You could also try a 'Paste Special' in Powerpoint or saving the file to your desktop and doing an 'Insert Image'

What happens if you try to copy and paste an image from Safari instead of Firefox? Do you have a different version of Firefox installed on your MacBook Pro than your MacBook Air?
