Some damage may be obvious (cracked screen), other types of damage may not be. If your phone develops other problems immediately after you drop it (maybe the device refuses to power on, or maybe the camera stops working, etc.), these would likely be caused by hardware damage. I recommend avoiding dropping your phone as much as possible so you don't have to find out yourself.
Dropping your phone could certainly cause hardware damage and iOS may have a difficult time running on hardware that isn't working properly. The fix for any issues caused by dropping your phone are likely going to be hardware repairs.
when it comes to a dropped device its all how it falls to see what damage is done wether its from your pocket or 30ft
but your software will be fine like Origonalname022 said may be difficult to navigate though,
but don't throw your phone from 30ft
If you have your phone in your top suit pocket, and it is not in a case, and it falls out and hits the concrete you are walking on, then in all likelihood, there would be damage to the device.
What is your point?
And since the device is not designed to be thrown, then all bets are off.
These are common-sense questions, not serious ones.

I can't think of an an issue for software that would be caused from a drop.
what software issue is happening after the drop?
I don't know
so if you dropped it and theres nothing going wrong with the software then your fine.
if any issue comes up with your software then it would be a separate issue to the drop
So if I throw my IPhone from 30 feet the software will be ****** up
So if I drop my phone out of my pocket normally the hardware will not be damaged?
And how can you see that your hardware have some problems
If you drop Your iPhone does it affect your iOS software?
