Ext mic wont pick up recording on garageband

After upgrade to sierra ext. Mic or instrumenr wont pick up sound or show recording its a focusrite interface which works through windows 10 computer ..had montain lion befire sierra and same interface recorded

You'll also want to check with the manufacturer to see if the microphone is compatible with macOS Sierra and if there are any updates that you may need to download.

If you're still unable to use the mic after checking into these things, I have a few questions for you:
Will the internal microphone on the Mac pick up and record sound?
If you plug the external mic directly into the Mac without the interface, does it pick up and record sound?
