Network iPad mini several ip addresses

I am new to apple after recently buying an iPad mini. Using a bt home hub connected to the internet. I have no other devices connected. In the network tab on my mini it is indicating 5 ip addresses? Is this normal? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a mesh network in your home or perhaps a router with multiple radios? The first part of the IPv6 address indicates a single network. You see the first part of the IP is the same and only changes halfway through. The last part is specific to a device.

HI.....the only router I have is the one issued by my ip provider.

when I have looked in settings it is only showing my device but other than changing the password....I'm afraid it all goes over my head.....what is a mesh network?

After some digging, this is apparently normal. In IPv4, the router makes all your internet connections using its global IP, and forwards the replies to your device using its local IP. In IPv6, there are so many possible addresses that this is not necessary, so your device IP can be sent directly to the internet. To protect your privacy, the IP you use is changed frequently, and one device can have multiple IP addresses, as you have seen.

You could post a new question regarding browser settings. Also, take Briansyddall's suggestion and get the iPad users guide. It's a free iBook, so you download it from inside the iBooks app.
