hi everyone. I've had this issue for several months now and i'm over it already lol. Basically, i can't send texts or receive facebook notifications anymore. my phone and mac are almost out of sync even though they're both supposedly connected?? is there a way i can reset these settings without losing my data?

Fast User Switching in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts or Users and Groups lets you have more than one Mac OS X account running at once. To log out of an account, go to the Apple menu and log out of it. When you log out of an iCloud account the only data loss is to data that is in the middle of being synced between one machine and another. If it already is on iCloud, logging out of it will not lose it.
To be on the safe side, it is good to keep a copy of current data somewhere which is not constantly being updated automatically. The danger of automatic backups is they can be incomplete if there is a power outage in the middle.
i'm not trying to reset my phone, just my settings, specifically icloud settings. I changed my email address and for some reason that messed up my icloud so now my phone is out of sync with my mac and it bothers me. it says to sign into icloud but it only says my old email address and i don't know what to do. i cant sign out because it asks for my old email and password and that doesn't even exist anymore so i want to completely reset it
i have never used icoud and never will but i just dont want to reset the rest of my data on my computer
