Can't see friends activity rings on watch

I'm having the same problem with my series 3 watch - I have been on the ph to Apple support for about 3 hours over 2 or 3 calls, turned off the ph and the watch, turned back on, update watch software, reset the watch, signed in and out of icloud, tried everything and still nothing. Was told that it looks like it could be a bug - and there should be an update coming out to fix it - that was a week ago. Very frustrating. It was working fine then it just didn't!

To check a friend’s progress:

1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.
2. Swipe left to view shared activity.
3. Tap your friend, then scroll to see their progress. You can also send them a message.

Activity Sharing requires iOS 10 and watchOS 3. If you paired more than one Apple Watch to your iPhone, the Sharing tab won't appear in Activity
until you update all your watches to watchOS 3.

If you can’t add a friend, make sure that they have an Apple Watch and that you haven’t added the maximum number of friends. You can add up to 25 friends.

As long as your iPhone can connect to the Internet and you're signed in to iCloud, you can get updates about your friends’ activity each day. If your iPhone can't connect for multiple days or you sign out of iCloud, you might see missing days.

I have the same problem. My friend is already sharing their activities with me. Their rings show up on my phone. On my watch however, I used to see them, but now I only see myself under the Sharing tab of the Activity app.

This response was not helpful at all and clearly disregarded what was actually asked. 36 other people have also asked for an answer to this on this thread. Do you have a solution yet or not?
