Hi,

I've had the erratic battery issue since I updated the os 10.2!! I've talked with three different apple support people and got three different answers. 1: do a soft reset. 2: (in store employee) do a factory reset. She also said I don't know why the phone support says to do the first thing? 3:the battery is old and I can set you up with a store for 80$ repair!!! Now who actually knows what they're talking about? Seems like everyone I know is having the same problem and I still use a 4 and 4s for my kids and they hold charges still? I kind of think apples not owing up to some kind of software issue! I've been buying iPhones since the start but think they are slipping by trying to rush new product????
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this -- but know that you're not alone.
I'm betting that this is an iOS issue; but what I don't understand is why some people claim to have no issues, while we are.
I have an iPhone 5, and it's been shutting down, repeatedly "rebooting, and the battery (according to iOS) is all over the place in terms of "charge percentage" -- ever since I updated to iOS 10.3.2.
I've talked with friends that are as furious and fed-up as I am; one friend ditched all of their family's iPhone 6s+'s -- upgrading to the 7+, with the (expensive) hopes of that being an"fix"...
Nope: same thing, if not worse: unexpected shutdowns and reboots; apps crashing slightly less, but still happening.
And its pointless to try to deal with any so-called "tech" personnel -- or anyone at Apple -- it's pathetic that NO ONE knows anything, it's all guessing and finger pointing. And then
I keep sending emails to "*******@apple.com"... and I'm pretty sure it's going to be Mr. Bill Gates that has my solution.

Depending on the particular "person" I speak with at a given moment, they've ran me around this whole scenario too.
Nothing but shoulder-shrugging and finger-pointing and "I dunno" answers.
We all can tell that Steve Job's Apple is long gone... 😟
I've been rapidly hearing an increase of complaints from many people I know, as well as reading about it just by going a "google search"... it's happening more frequently now, with various versions of iOS 10.x.x and with various hardware.
In my case, it's been happening ever since i updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 10.3.2.
Apple has no clue.

Given that Apple is now on BETA 6 of iOS 10.3.3 "devopment" -- that's a long time! -- its pretty clear they have a mess on their hands.
This constant "shutdown/reboot" issue is just the latest round of nightmares of me having to deal with inept Apple employees -- being lead by a CEO that is still scarily holding the "CEO reigns" -- while lacking the integrity and morals to be publically honest to it's once-loyal customers.
Bill Gates/Microsoft have been very wise to conveniently place their stores across from, if not very near, Apple Stores -- they don't have to TRY to attract (former) die-hard Apple customers; they're bolting AWAY from Apple and straight into Microsoft by the masses.
Because THEY now offer complete platforms which offer "It Just Works".
My iPhone 6s randomly shuts down, even with a fully charged battery. My IOS is updated and it happens even with no apps open. Looking for suggestions on how to keep this from happening or what the cause is?
