The "Mac Optimizer" just came up and told me I had a virus on my Mac and to use this product to remove virus. It scanned my computer and found virus, then went on to sell me the software to remove.
Mac trademark was on the page. I want to know if this product is legitimate and how do I know for sure I have a virus? Or, is this company a scam?

You do not have a virus, there aren't any for OS X.
To get rid of it consult the people who make it.
Going forward never install any anti virus, they are all toxic to Macs.
