Steam shop video playback issue (video is not being played in Safari)

Hello! Why videos in Steam shop are not displayed in Safari? It's just a still image. In Chrome everything is absolutely fine.

If the above doesn't work, try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer or by using the developer’s uninstall instructions. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Go step by step and test.

Adobe Flash Player

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All

Press the "Delete All" button.

Install Adobe Flash Player.

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Follow the prompts. Click Safari in the menu bar and then Quit Safari .

Restart the computer. Relaunch Safari.

2. Allow Plug-ins

Safari > Preferences > Security

Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"

Enable it.

Click " Plug-in Settings" button for more options.

Enable “Adobe Flash Player:

Select “On” for “Currently open website” and When visiting other websites”.

Click “Done”.

3. Delete cookies.

Only way to solve this problem is to uninstall Adobe Player and reinstall the Flash Player.

For instructions: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html#OS_X_ 10_4_and_later

Steps 1 to 10

I don't think that reinstalling Flash Player will solve the problem.

When I try to play a video in Steam, I get an error in the web-inspector console:

"Refused to load http://store.steampowered.com/public/swf/videoPlayer.swf?v=10 because it does not appear in the object-src directive of the Content Security Policy."

After performing operations desribed above I have some progress. Now I get a "Blocked plugin" message in video window (see screenshot, sorry for Russian)

While in Adobe Flash plugin everything is set to "On" ("Вкл"="On")

I tried this in IE8 with the latest version of Adobe Flash — no problem, the video is playing.

But I found a posts about this problem on the Steam forum (March 8) — http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/135511027316464199/

On March 8, Apple released an update "Core Suggestions Configuration Data v785". Maybe the problem is related to this update?
