So I have recently got my Apple tv (2nd generation) and learnt I can connect it to my school network. I have installed the profile through the configurator correctly but still get error 3906. Now I don't think I will be able to reset the routers/network due to the size of the network but was wondering whether someone had an idea on how to solve this issue?

Hi. You say you recently got your Apple TV. Is it actually 2nd generation (silver remote) or 4th generation (small black remote)? If it's ATV 4, have you updated to software to the latest tvOS 10.1.1? That might help.
Reset your router completely. If its not help, factory reset on the Apple TV.
Disable Mac Address filter in your LinkSys router. On router configuration software, enter the address of your Apple TV 3 in the list of allowed devices.
Change the channel on the router.
You will need to contact the IT dept.
still i have this no -3906means i can't connect to my network...so i can't do update to my apple TV
