Audiobox USB not recognized on Macbook Pro 2016

Hi! I recently purchased the 15 inch Macbook Pro 2016 (with the touch bar). I have the PreSonus AudioBox USB, which has been working fine on my 2011 model MBP for years, but now my 2016 won't recognize it... since this one doesn't require drivers, and is just meant to be plugged into a USB port, I'm worried that the USB C adapter is causing it not to be recognized... it shows up in my system settings for a brief moment and then vanishes entirely. Only Logic Pro X seems to recognize it, but even then I'm unable to actually use it. I tried installing the universal driver from the PreSonus site (even though I shouldn't need it), and it did nothing. I'm at a complete loss. Does anyone have suggestions or info I'm not aware of?

Thanks so much.

I’ve been pulling my hair out with the exact same issue.

Problem solved. Found it on line in an Audiobox Usb thread.

Use an old school usb hub between interface and computer. USB 1.0.

USB 2.0 and 3.0 hubs do not work.

I used a regular old printer usb cable from interface right into a usb 1.0 hub and then into the Apple USB to Thunderbolt adapter (dongle). Works perfectly.
