Slow Mac, Beachballs

I got a Macbook Pro, 15-inch, mid 2015, 16 GB RAM 1600 MHz DDR3 last year.

Mainly because my older laptop (13 inch MBP, mid 2012, 4 GB RAM) had gradually gotten so slow that it was grinding to a halt .

Now, I'm experiencing the same initial issues I was experiencing when I first noticed the issue on my older Macbook. Apps take longer to load, beachballs everywhere. Brief beachballs, but troubling. A processor intensive game like XCOM 2, for example, takes way longer to load when previously it had no issue at all. This all started happening when I came back home from a three day vacation recently, and had absentmindedly left my laptop on. Could that be it? Here are some of the logs:

I don't see anything too obvious. Does the problem persist in the Guest Account or new user account? If not, then the issue is in your account. If so, then it's system wide.

What happens with a Safe Boot? A number of things are disabled in Safe Mode, and if the Mac runs better, then you can look at the things that are specifically disabled and see if you can pin down the problem.

Good luck!
