Podcast app keeps crashing on iPhone when connected

Over the last week my podcast app on my iPhone 6 (iOS 10.2.1) crashes after about 5 seconds when connected to the internet. If I go into airplane mode or go out of wireless range (I have mobile data switched off in the app settings) then it runs ok.

I've tried a number of things like powering off/on, deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing my unplayed downloads with no joy. Any help will be gratefully received.
