My iPhone and iPad have backed up automatically almost every day since I got them. It is a really simple thing. If yours is not someone can help you make it work. But if your whole point is just to have an attitude you are on your own.

Did back-up and now Iphone says Latest back-up: Never.
If this backup was to iTunes, your phone has no ability to know that. It will only report iCloud backups.

There is no answer to this problem. I've been trying to backup an iPad for months now. I keep getting the message and putting the thing in backup automatically when connected to wifi, etc. and it just doesn't happen. The question now isn't how to do a backup, I no longer care. The real question is why did Apple make doing such a simple thing so complicated? Was it just to be evil? To be smug? To make fools of all of us? That's what it feels like. The solution to such an issue shouldn't require going to a forum and asking for answers.

If you back up to iTunes on your computer you will see the most recent backup date in iTunes. If you back up to iCloud you will see the most recent backup date on your phone AND in iTunes on your computer.

I have the same problem, thought it has only been going on for 6 week for me. I have followed the process below and it is still not working, although I have had an option to back up now which i am doing

Why is my phone not being backed up! A message tells me that my phone has not been backed up in 34 weeks! In order do so, it must be locked hooked up to a server and locked! All that has been done with no backup! Please help!
