Leave iPad unlocked
I have no secrets on and no password for my iPad 2. Is there a way to avoid having to unlock it manually each time I turn it on?

You can turn off the passcode via Settings > Passcode : Use a passcode with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Not having a passcode will make it easier for somebody else to use if it's lost or stolen, especially if you also don't have Settings > iCloud > Find iPad 'on'
If you have no passcode you will always need to swipe to open or double tap the home button to open the device.
You can go into the settings and turn the auto lock to never, which means the screen will never turn off on its own, but your battery life will reflect this, and even then you will need to tap on the home button or swipe (depending on the iOS you're running) to open the screen when it does inevitably run out of power or you turn the screen off at night or to charge it.
Thanks for answering, but that was not my question. I said I don't have a passcode.
Settings, display & brightness, autolock = never. That will of course keep your display lit all the time, running the battery down much faster.
