I am not getting stand or breathe reminders on my watch and it is not recording times I stand. What is wrong?

Hi
To check your reminder settings:
On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Activity:
On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Breathe > Breathe Reminders:
For the purpose of crediting the hourly Stand achievement, your watch aims to identify when you have stood up and moved around for at least one minute during that hour.
Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so arm movement equivalent to changing from a seated to a standing position followed by a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally should help to register this.
If you believe that you have met this requirement, but Stand credits are still not being awarded, it may help to follow these steps, which have resolved the same issue for other users:
If you have not yet done so, update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:
On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - confirm that this is turned on.
If Passcode is enabled, check that you are unlocking your watch each day after placing it on your wrist and that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly (neither too tightly nor too loosely).
On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - turn Fitness Tracking off.
Restart both devices by turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
Re-enable Fitness Tracking.
I’ve tried all of the above.updated the software last night. All seemed to work no mar
tter what I was doing or my activity. Seems useless if I’m too active and it doesn’t remind me to stop and breath. Isn’t that the object of the exercise as they say! I’m berry disappointed, this is why I bought the wat h in the first place. Should have done a Fitbit.
Given the steps that you have tried, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance, including - if recommended - to arrange for your Apple Watch to be checked and, if required serviced:
Thank you so much for you detailed reply. I had tried all these things except the restart of both devices. I tried that but it did not solve the problem. The watch does not remind me to stand or record that I have. It used to do this. Likewise, it does not tell me to breathe, which it also used to do. Maybe I need to conta AppleCare.
I don't get stand reminders but I get alerts when I close the rings... even though it's set not to alert me. I've never had that switched on so after the last update it's just decided to do that and not remind me to stand. Recently contacted Apple Service through chat for a different Activity app. issue and they checked the hardware on both my iPhone 7 and watch (series 2, ten months old) and confirmed all was fine.
Yes, the wheelchair setting is set to "no."
Yes, I've restarted my phone after this.
Yes, I've unpaired and repaired my watch (numerous times).
Yes, I've restarted the watch (numerous times).
Yes, I've closed all activity apps on my phone and restarted (numerous times).
Yes, I've restarted both devices together (numerous times).
Yes, wrist detection is on.
No, it's not set on 'do not disturb.'
No passcode.
None of the suggested fixes work.
It seems your arm has to be still and your heart rate is not racing. I was sitting down and arm not moving for a while then I get a breathe notification. Other times while moving it will not notify you! My ios and watchOs is both ho to date as of 1/12/18.
But I remembered before ios 11 I think it gave me breaghe reminders even when I was moving around.
before ios 11 I think I keep getting the Breathe notifications no matter what I was doing except running. But now I only get it if I am sitting for a while with a low heart rate. But it should notify you even if have an elevated heart rate but not like a running heart rate. Anyways I will actually receive a replacement from Apple Monday the 5th so will update if it works. I will set it up as new.
Jonathan, thank you again for the reply. I guess I am going to have to make a call to Apple Support.
You're welcome! 🙂
