Issue with Safari not opening Amazon images

I have been experiencing an issue with Safari Version 10.0.3 (12602.4.8) being unable (or unwilling) to expand customer images on the Amazon.com site. Clicking on a customer image or the link to customer images does nothing. I click and it doesn't even appear to try to load the page or image. The issue is exclusive to Safari and the links work properly in Chrome and Firefox. Running a brand new MacBook Pro 15" 2016 Touchbar unit, but I tried my old MacBook Pro 2012 and it has the same ailment.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions to address it? Its really annoying.

Safari can’t open a website

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Web Content not responding

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

If that doesn't work, try running this program in your normal account , then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Thank you for the suggestions. I try to avoid calling in for support on anything. Surely someone else has experienced this. As for the issue, it seems to have resolved itself so I am wondering if it was a remote server issue. Given that it was happening on multiple machines and different user accounts, something was clearly amiss.

As for extensions... none were installed, so I know that wasn't it. I tried the various fixes and tests without success.

That web site you linked to - Etrecheck - reported all kinds of inaccurate information about my machine including incorrect model, processor, memory, and more.

Same configuration for me as well. In addition I've found other vague references to ensuring IPv6 was set to link-local on any interfaces, and have tried with firewall on and off. I can occasionally make it open the images after closing Safari, deleting preferences, and trying again. This however is not consistent and cannot routinely replicate the issue.

I am not sure which part helped but here is what I ended up doing to get it to work:

1. In Safari > Preferences> Search I clicked on Manage Websites... and removed Amazon.com from the list

2. In the Security tab clicked on Plug-in Settings... checked Java and allowed it on all websites

3. Relaunched the browser (still did not work)

4. In Safari > Preferences> Privacy > Manage Website Data... searched for amazon and removed all cookies

5. Relaunched the browser (still did not work)

6. Went back to Plug-in Settings and unchecked Java

7. Relaunched Safari and I can view customer images with no issues now

I had logged in as a guest user and did not have issues there so I knew Safari itself was not the problem. As I mentioned, I am not sure what ended up helping and if this will work for anyone else, but figured I would share.
