My Yahoo outgoing emails get stuck in outbox

Ok, I've had just about enuff with Yahoo in general, so I just deleted my Yahoo account from my iPad. It's not going to work. Yahoo %^$*&#! I gave in and finally just created an Apple iCloud email just so I can email stuff from my iPad again. Just go to your Settings - Click your name - click iCloud, slide the 'Mail' button to on. It will ask you to create an iCloud email address and then when you open mail on your iPad you have a new account that works. That was all free as well, the $ comes in if you want a bigger size iCloud storage plan - 5GB is free - next is 50GB for .99/mo. and up from there. At least I can send mail from my iPad now. Hope this helps someone 🙂

So frustrating!! I had this problem with a mac mail account. The email popped up every 10 seconds until I could get it deleted from the out box... Grrr...

This is what worked for me:

Go to "Accounts" under the "Mail" pulldown menu. Sign into iCloud with your Apple ID and Password. That did it for me.

All of a sudden, my Yahoo mail works to receive, but when I try to send any mail at all, it gets stuck in the Outbox and when I click on the Outbox message, it says, "username or password is incorrect" and takes me to the Yahoo settings where there is no place to enter the Yahoo password at all. It's an endless loop. I deleted my Yahoo account entirely on the iPad and reinstalled 3 times - same crap every time. I'm getting super sick of spending an entire afternoon on stupid crap like this that seems to happen more now, then like 15 years ago. Yay for technology, I'm ready to get off this nightmare grid completely.

Doesn’t help me because I actually use my yahoo account for vendors and random website registrations. I need access to it, and the ability to reply to/send emails using the yahoo credentials from the Mail app.

I see you are using Port 465. I would try 993

My Yahoo mail will not send from Apple Mail App on iPad or on iMac 10.11.6 starting today. On the iMac I checked the ports and I am using 465 so I tried 993 and that doesn't work either.

On the iMac the sent message goes into the outbox and starts flashing on and off the screen until I delete it from the outbox.

On the iPad the message goes into the outbox and tries to send but will not and I get "1 unsent message" notification.

I can go to the yahoo mail app or web mail and can send just fine from there.

My Gmail, Outlook and Live accounts all work on the Apple Mail App only Yahoo is the problem.

Having the exact same issue with yahoo and all my non-primary (which is my gmail) email accounts through the Mail app. For context, this was all fine yesterday before I upgraded to the iPhone X and restored from my iPhone 5 backup.

Yeah, that's a problem, I just use my Yahoo from my Mac mini but I get it in your case u need it from ur iPad - who do you contact in this case? Yahoo? There is no real Yahoo support other then stock chain emails

you will see the whole world is hurting from Yahoo mail. Time to dump them. I have had my yahoo accounts hacked 3 times in the last 10 years and Gmail and live hacked 0 times.

Yahoo Mail is like a cheating lover or a drug addict. You can fix the problem now but it will always revert to the same crap. Time to move on.

I am having the exact same problem. Ever since updating to v11.1.1 the emails just can’t go out. Keeps saying that the username and password is incorrect. But when i try to edit and input ur username and password, I can’t.... what’s happening??
