iPhone 7 plus not receiving group texts or MMS

Hi, my iPhone 7 plus is no longer receiving group texts from groups that have non-iphones in them. All iMessage groups are working perfectly, this is only a problem with non-iPhone, regular SMS (green bubble) messages.

Around 4 PM yesterday is when I received the last text from a group with a non-iphone user in it. This group happened to have my husband in it and later that evening he mentioned some other texts that were sent and that's when I realized I didn't get any of them. I asked around in some of my other non-iMessage groups and it appears to be a problem with all groups that don't have iMessage. Texts to INDIVIDUAL non-iPhone users, not group texts, are still working but I can't receive any MMS messages from them.

In case it's helpful, this issue is only with receiving messages. All sending is working normally across iMessage, non-iMessage, groups and individual message threads and I can send MMS just fine, as well.

I've tried several things already:

- Turned LTE on and off

- Turned cellular data on and off

- Hard reset

- Reset network settings

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.2.1

Regular SMS messages to non-iOS devices is a carrier function. There is no setting on the iPhone to control these. If you are experiencing an issue with SMS, you need to contact your carrier to have them check the provisioning on your account to ensure you have an SMS plan. IF you experience problems with MMS, that requires cellular data, and a plan as well. They can check that at the same time.

I will call AT&T to see what they have to say, but I was thinking it could be an iOS issue because it's a group message problem. Individual SMS texts are working just fine (*with the exception of receiving MMS, I can still send them to individuals and groups). The problem only occurs in group messages that include non-iOS users.

Again, as long as you have MMS turned on for the phone and have cellular data turned on and if you are still having issues then AT&T needs to deal with it. It is very possible they will need to reset your SMS/MMS plan. It should not be that difficult.

A group message with non-iOS users is an MMS. Again, MMS is a carrier function. They would need to check it.

Ah I see. I didn't realize group messages were MMS. Thank you for your help. Moving this over to an AT&T forum where it looks like several others have had the same problem.
