How do we reset the play count in iTunes 12.6
Once again, this has disappeared. The new 12.6 does't show "reset play count" when right-clicking on a highlighted item. How do we do this now?

Running iTunes 12.7 now. Select the individual song (or all songs, works the same) and right-click to get the menu. Select "Song Info" and towards the bottom right click on "Reset"...and voila! This works on individual songs or multiple highlighted selections.

Hi there, the thought of having to reset over 3000 songs was too much, but I decided to try the right click option. And yeah it worked !
So, start by "select all", then right click and go to "song info". Now this will be blank because it is for all songs, so, just go to "reset" and click, then whiz bang a window comes up, showing all the songs, about three seconds later, it is all done.

I had this problem and just successfully fixed it for all songs at once:
Highlight all songs
Right click anywhere in the highlighted area
Choose GET INFO
When asked if you want to edit multiple items, click EDIT
Near the bottom right, choose RESET
Click OK
Done!
Hope this helps everyone!
So I just did this in 30 seconds:
😎
No need to do one song at a time. Select all songs right click select get info and then click reset. This resets all songs takes 30 secs for 12000 tracks.
This is for iTunes 12.7. YEEAaaa!! I finally found the answer on my own. Can't believe it. So simple once you know the secret handshake.
Select all the songs you want to reset. Put your cursor on the " ... " of one of the selected songs . Click and select "Get Info" or "Song Info" if you only have one song selected. Near the bottom you will find a beautiful sight. "play count -" with a "Reset" button. Bingo!!!
You can reset your whole library by selecting all songs (Command-A) and then right clicking get info, at the bottom it will say reset play count. Hopefully this works for you
Either it was a bug, or Apple were exploring which features they could remove without significant impact. Note that reset plays is available in Get Info, although there were one or more builds which didn't support it for multiple tracks. Scripting solutions were supplied at the time and should still work if you prefer.

To reset the play count for all songs in iTunes 12.7, select all the songs (Ctrl-A), then right click on one of the songs and select Get Info. A message will appear about editing info for multiple songs. Select Edit Items. An edit window will open and near the bottom is a Reset button to the right of play count. Click this button.
In 12.7 of iTunes
I have sorted this BUT, other similar posts refer to 'Get Info'. But with I-Tunes 12.7.2, follow below:
(1) Highlight songs you want to reset.
(2) Click Edit button, top left.
(3) Choose 'Song Info'.
(4) Dilogue box appears: click 'Edit Items'.
(5) Press reset button.
Does the trick.
To Reset all the Play counts at once, you select all the songs on your account ----> Edit Tab--> Get info-->
Edit Items--> and hit Reset. Now it will take less than 10 seconds to reset you play counts on the latest iTunes.
Right-click the song and choose "Get Info". Find the Play Count shown toward the bottom of the "Details" tab. Click "Reset" on that row.
