Apple Maps shows empty grid: solved!

I had this problem for quite sometime: everytime I launched Apple Maps I had an empty grid

To see maps I had to restart my computer.

After a lot of reading I found the right and quick solution

Open Activity Monitor ( located in Applications-Utilities)

Search an activity called "geod"

You fill find com.apple.geod, highlight it selecting it

Quit or force quit the pesky thing

Launch Maps and you will see everything you need to see!

I'm using El Capitan but I already had this issue since Mavericks.

Just wanted to share it

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null
