To complete Software Update / How can one delete large number of pictures at once from an iPhone 5 ?

I cannot complete Software Update to iOS 10.3 until I have deleted many pictures / limited videos. It requires 902MB of memory.


How can I Select an entire year (or group) of images and Delete them at once ?

[they have been backed-up before].
