Unable to change audiobook properties
Hello All,
I have an external USB hard drive that is used as a central media library for all computers in my home. The drive is shared and is mounted on each of the computers in my home.
I recently reinstalled iTunes on one of these computers in an attempt to allow iTunes to access this media library instead of a locally stored media library. I started by adding my audiobooks to iTunes. The media added to iTunes without issue. However, when I attempted to modify the properties of the audiobooks to indicate that they were audiobooks and not music nothing happened. Despite repeated attempts to change the iTunes setting from music to audiobook they remain unchanged. I am fairly certain that this is a permissions issue, but I am unsure as to the extent of access that should be permitted. I'm guessing that iTunes is trying to physically modify the files in some way and is unable to do so. iTunes does not display any messages or errors so I am unsure of how to proceed. Currently permissions are set to allow read only access. In other words you can listen to but not modify files.
Any assistance you can provide in correcting this problem is appreciated.
