Cannot Update 4th Gen iPad to iOS10.3

It's amazing, iTunes does all the work.

Have the latest version of iTunes on your computer.

Plug your iPad into the computer with the cord you use to charge your iPad.

A little iPad appears nearss the top of the screen.

Click on the tiny iPad

iTunes will tell you a update is available and ask you if you want to update.

If you don't have a computer or aren't confident doing it go to the Apple store and watch closely as they do it.

After seeing it done it's a piece of cake. 🙂

iTunes says 10.3 is available to install on my iPad. So update iTunes if you need to and you should be able to update usIng iTunes.

Actually, I believe iOS 10.3 requires iOS 12.6.

I'm seeing the same message on my iPad 4 but I can't find anything official from Apple saying why.

I'll try updating over iTunes and will be back in a while with the results.

Yeah, so you would need iTunes 12.6 on your computer. Always try updating from the computer first, much safer. It can also be that your iPad hasn't received an update yet.

I had to connect mine to iTunes to get the update. My iPad Air 2 updated without connection.
